Head of Employees and Industrial Relations United Kingdom Permanent Salary plus Car/Car Allowance + Flexible Benefits Summary An integral role within our business where the successful person will implement and manage the industrial relations strategy, linking it to the overall engineering business objectives to include employee engagement.
They will act as the business interface with internal and external industry stakeholders, which will include employer associations and trade unions who are party to the relevant industry national working rule agreements.
They will also provide guidance and influence decision making to the Engineering Senior Management Team in all employee and industrial relations matters.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: Provide guidance and direction for all new projects to manage IR/ER risk and be available to support the deployment of workforce within our regions and strategic projects.Support the Head of HR to plan and manage changes within the division.
Be an ambassador for the HR function driving efficiency improvements in all areas of influence.Own and manage the Engineering Policy Statement and Workforce Strategy.Work with learning and development partners to ensure that on site supervision roles are clear and that competence is well defined and communicated.Take ownership of the Engineering Workforce Forum and continue to develop the forum as the primary vehicle for employee engagement within the engineering workforce.Develop, agree and maintain a group wide strategy and approach to industrial relations including recognition of trade unions and groups, membership of industry trade and employment bodies and organisations.Represent the company at industry, trade and employment organisations, ensuring that NG Bailey can influence development and change in our industry.What we're looking for:
Someone that understands that this role will mean travelling as well and spinning lots of plates at the same time.
They will be working within a brilliant team and engaging with brilliant stakeholders all across the business.
This person will be involved in the detail and be very hands-on with some tasks, while being strategic and thinking about the big picture on others.
They will also need to be able to identify possible issues before they happen and think a few steps ahead to manage them effectively.
