The Head of Development and Impact will be our lead fundraiser, taking ownership of identifying funding sources, creating strategy, and building relationships with donors. This role has achieved significant success in CARAS' development over the last five years, more than trebling our income.

This opportunity comes as CARAS pilots a 4-day workweek, enhancing staff wellbeing while maintaining full pay.

The role: The Head of Development, Operations and Impact will lead various activities and manage a team contributing to CARAS' fundraising. You will collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership team and ensure effective management of grants and donations.
Key tasks and activities: General: Lead the Operations department and line-manage team members. Secure diverse income streams for CARAS. Be the main point of contact for grant-makers and donors. Participate in strategic reviews and prioritize resources. Carry out other duties as necessary. Fundraising: Line-manage our Fundraising Officer. Develop and deliver a fundraising strategy. Maintain a pipeline of fundraising opportunities. Ensure compliance with fundraising best practices. Work with Heads of Service and Finance Manager to manage grants. Lead on developing programmatic and core budgets. Identify and build corporate partnerships. Operations: Line-manage our Operations Manager. Oversee service providers and ensure value for money. Maintain partnerships with stakeholders. Support project monitoring and reporting. Finance: Collaborate with the Finance Manager for financial management. Develop the annual budget with the Finance Manager and CEO. Monitoring, evaluation and impact: Lead CARAS' annual outcomes evaluation. Develop outcomes and donor reports. Monitor data collection for agility in policy changes. Governance: Maintain up-to-date policies relevant to the role. Attend board meetings and share fundraising reports. Person Specification: Essential: Proven leadership experience. Experience in fundraising or business development. Experience in line management and team support. Outstanding written communication skills. Confidence with financial management. Experience with data collection and analysis. Collaborative work style. Experience in budget creation and income forecasting. Ability to convey financial information clearly. Experience in fundraising strategy development. Commitment to CARAS's values. Desirable: Experience in co-designing services with a community. Knowledge of issues affecting refugees. Familiarity with fundraising in the migration sector. Experience with accountancy software.
