DescriptionPurpose of team Lead on London's Visitor Experience strategy to improve the visitor experience in London and attract new experiences and major events to animate the city. Key objectives include improving access to data for the city's placemakers, encouraging visitors to see more of the city and make more sustainable choices in destination, improving the city's visitor offer as well as improving perceptions of the city. The team also support and connect the city's placemakers and key stakeholders with data, product development, and marketing.
Purpose of role Lead the delivery of the visitor experience strategy and team to improve the visitor experience in London and encourage visitors to see more of the city. You will form close working relationships to lead, convene and influence key placemakers across the city, including the GLA, boroughs, business improvement districts, developers, landowners, experience owners and major brands.
Key TasksDefine and manage programmes to deliver the visitor experience strategy, improving the visitor experience in London and encouraging visitors to see more of the cityBuild and manage relationships at a senior level to convene, influence and connect the city's placemakers, identifying and encouraging collaborative opportunities aligned to the strategyDevelop and manage partnerships to support key placemakers by defining and delivering key support programmes for data and insights, product development and marketingRepresent London & Partners at key stakeholder meetings, influence and connect the strategies of key stakeholders so they adopt a 'visitor lens' to meet the needs of visitorsScope and manage new programmes and commercial opportunities to grow consumer spend in the city's leisure and visitor economyWork with the Major Events team to attract large 'anchor'/ headline events and experiences to animate the city, helping put new destinations on the map and amplifying London's brand.Work with the Consumer Marketing team to improve perceptions of London and influence visitor decision making through owned, earned and paid channelsLead and mentor the Visitor Experience team, overseeing the coordination and delivery of placemaking activityWork closely with colleagues across the organisation, helping them to understand how they can support visitor experience strategy through their work.Any other reasonable duties as allocated by the line manager. Proven leadership experience within a placemaking or destination management environment at a senior levelStrong senior stakeholder relationships, able to effectively lead, manage and influence multiple stakeholders from a variety of public and private organisationsDemonstrable experience of identifying, creating and managing high value partnershipsStrategic mindset, able to think long-term and see the big picture to identify and implement new opportunitiesExtensive experience of leading teams to design and deliver high profile placemaking programmes with demonstrable outcomesProven leadership, people management and development skills, with the ability to create a team environment that encourages ownership and continuous improvementEvidence of customer first, data led approach to placemakingExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalManaging corporate riskDesirable
