About the role At the heart of BMLL's offering is content.
This includes historical datasets for our market data, (both harmonised in our Data Lab as well as our normalised offerings within the data feed) and analytics datasets.
Our products cover global equities, major futures venues and US equity options, and we are continuously expanding coverage.
We are looking for a senior product leader to drive the strategy and development of our content, reporting to the Chief Product Officer.
You will work across sales, engineering, quant and product teams to refine product requirements, enhance our existing products and build new ones.
What makes this job special: You can build and drive the strategy of one of the core areas of BMLL's focus, that is critical to BMLL's scaling strategy  You will have unique access the most granular historical market data and analytics that is available in the market As Head of Content, you will:  Set the product roadmap for content, defining the strategy for feature development and turning that into concrete engineering requirements, collaborating with our Applications and Feeds product teams Define BMLL's content management strategy, including content changes, documentation and customer support Lead the onboarding of new datasets, from licensing considerations through to normalisation and distribution Identify our customer pain points and needs, acting as a subject matter expert in our data processing and normalisation Prototype new market data products leveraging BMLL's in house tools and technologies Define specifications for market data and analytics products, from inception to delivery Work with our technology, quant and delivery functions to drive the delivery and execution of the product roadmap Assist our marketing team to outline use cases, personas and to help brand the products Requirements Essential Proven track record in building market data products, either for internal consumption or as external products Deep understanding of market data content, entitlements and commercials, ideally for exchange traded futures and options Understanding of exchange market data protocols and packet-capture processes Domain knowledge of global trading, and how historical market data and analytics are used across the buy-side and sell-side Strong knowledge of the software and product development process, and how to turn business strategy into concrete engineering requirements Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to produce practical solutions in a tight deadline Excellent teamwork and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams without formal reporting lines in a collaborative manner Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate fluently with both technical and non-technical audiences Desirable Knowledge of market microstructure  Knowledge of product management tools (e.g ProductBoard) Experience in scripting languages and SQL Experience in managing data quality processes Benefits Competitive salary 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Share Options after completion of probationary period Pension Scheme Private Medical Insurance Life Insurance Combination of remote and London based office working (2 days in office per week) A yearly Well being Physical Activity budget Continuous learning through funded training and challenging projects Collaborative culture Weekly team lunches Free Fruit, snacks, and drinks provided throughout the day (When office based) Regular Team Socials Cycle to Work Scheme We are an inclusive employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
