Head Of Computing - Teaching Position Sen

A Special Education Needs School in Birmingham is looking to recruit a Head of Computing. The school is a stand-alone Academy based in a wide variety of locations across the City of Birmingham. During a school year, the school educates young people for periods ranging from a few days to several years, depending on their needs. Many of the school's young people have complex medical needs and many have been out of education for a significant period prior to joining the school. The school offers a full-time curriculum to young people from EYFS to KS5 and aims to close the gap on and also exceed the expected progress with each pupil that they work with.
The school is seeking the following:
Someone who wants to have a positive impact on some of the most vulnerable children's lives in BirminghamA talented leader who can deliver high quality computing lessons to young people who have complex mental health difficulties and other medical needs.As a creative person, with a passion for computing, you will have excellent subject and pedagogical knowledge.Someone who will lead colleagues and the wider team to ensure young people still have access to learning and gain practical experiences.Someone who will have a creative approach to teaching to reduce the impact of the educational disadvantages some of their pupils have and thus enabling them to access learning and make expected progress.Someone who is a resilient and dynamic teacher who can inspire young people and develop others within the computing team.Someone who is able to support the needs of the whole child and be committed to enabling all young people to thrive.Someone who has tenacity coupled with experience of working with KS3 and KS4 pupils, and experience of developing an exciting and engaging curriculum.The school is able to offer:
MPS/UPS – salary is negotiable, £31,650 up to £49,084 + SEN £2,679 + TLR2b £5,637A potential recruitment bonus is also available for the right candidate.Whilst previous experience of working in a specialist setting may be beneficial, many of the school's staff come from a mainstream background.
