Description Contract type: Permanent, Full Time Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week Salary: circa £87,000 depending on experience  Location: Canary Wharf WFH policy: Employees are required to attend the office 2 days/week Flexible working : Variety of flexible work patterns subject to line manager discretion e.g.
Compressed 9-day fortnight.

Role Summary: As Head of Communications & Stakeholder Engagement, you shall lead a team and the wider business to be the external voice and face of the organisation and to develop our presence across the energy industry.
You will ensure that our key messages are effectively deployed across multiple communication channels to a diverse set of stakeholders - ensuring that a coherent message runs through all company communications and events, including our website, social media channels, publications, public affairs media and PR activities.
You will have the opportunity to bring to life this area of the business both internally and externally, demonstrating creativity and innovation throughout the process.
This role reports directly into the Director of Strategy & Development and sits within the wider Strategy & Development Directorate and Leadership Team.
At present, there are >5 direct reports within the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team, and you will have the opportunity to shape, structure and lead the team in the way you best see fit and aligned to the company mission, vision and values.
Key Responsibilities Execute on the current strategy: In line with the existing and approved strategy, there is a requirement to execute against the strategic objectives through the demonstration of tangible deliverables and measurable outcomes.
Effective planning, assignment of accountabilities and performance management will be a key requirement.
Develop and enhance the current strategy: As the business continuously develops, it is important that the communications and stakeholder engagement strategy and delivery develops in parallel.
The role holder will need to demonstrate a growth mindset, be forward thinking and ensure that the communications and stakeholder engagement strategy aligns with the wider company strategy.
Effectively report and engage internally: The role holder will have direct and regular interaction with the wider business and specifically, Executive Committee and company Board  members.
To appropriately manage these key stakeholders, the role holder will be able to communicate effectively through the provision of structured reports, status updates and suitable briefing material ahead of key engagements.
Externally promote company messages: The role holder will take personal responsibility for promoting the messages of the company in line with its growth ambitions.
This will create the opportunity for speaking at events, attending external engagements, developing external partnerships, media briefings, and creating a network of stakeholders to act as promoters of LCCC/ESC.
Additionally, through being accountable for the delivery of the communications plan, the role holder will ensure coordination of key communication areas (such as our Annual Stakeholder Survey), working in collaboration with business functions to ensure consistency of message and alignment of content.
Leadership: Effectively motivate, instil confidence and lead a diverse team to deliver strong outcomes against the approved strategy.
Wider leadership activities shall also be required through effective team management – resource planning, accountability assignment, development of team members, succession planning, risk management.
Key categories of work: Digital and social: Via the company website and LinkedIn account, the role holder will drive an innovate and creative culture to bring to life these channels to effectively deliver company messages, increased brand identity, and act as a vehicle to support stakeholders as necessary.
Event management: Create and deliver a pipeline of activity both internally and externally to ensure that stakeholders are appropriately communicated and engaged with, covering both operational and strategic aspects of the company.
Operational management: Given the nature of the work that LCCC/ESC are engaged in and the current developments across the energy industry; LCCC/ESC are often required to respond to any media/industry queries.
The role holder will ensure that any proactive and reactive lines are effectively coordinated with internal colleagues and communicated effectively.
Stakeholder engagement: The organisation engages with a very diverse set of stakeholders – government ministers and officials, trade bodies, industry, academia, media and journalists, contractual counterparties, plus many others.
The role holder will ensure that an effective stakeholder prioritisation exercise and approach is embedded, as well as ensuring that communications and stakeholder engagement activities are appropriately tailored to deliver the company messages.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise Your Experience:  5+ years and experience of working in an external communications role and managing diverse and considerable stakeholder relationships.
Experience in both leading and managing a team, and being able to demonstrate tangible results.
Experience growing a brand and industry reputation whilst receiving positive stakeholder satisfaction scores in the process.
Experience in energy / utilities sector, with an understanding of the current challenges and issues facing stakeholders across different aspects of the value chain.
Experiencing in actively promoting company messages.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence in engaging with external stakeholders, internal Executive Committee and Company Board members.
Results focused, with the ability to translate strategy objectives into execution plans that can be communicated and reported on to senior members of staff across the company.
Team player with credibility to operate at a senior level.

The Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) exists to help decarbonise the generation of electricity  and make it more affordable for the future.
Our work is central to the delivery of the Government's objective to achieve Net Zero target by 2050.
LCCC's main responsibility, amongst many, is managing the Contracts for Difference (CfDs) scheme which are agreements LCCC has made with renewable generators.
These agreements are private law contracts to provide investors with confidence when investing in low carbon technology.
CfDs are also designed to help and manage price increases for consumers, when electricity prices are high.
