The post holder will bring their clinical expertise and experience in relation to patient safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience to ensure the commissioning and contracting of high quality health services and will provide expert input into strategic and clinical planning, standard setting and assurance processes.
The post-holder will work closely with the Director of Nursing in providing leadership and direction, working collaboratively in ensuring an integrated approach to quality, performance management, the continuous improvement of services, triangulating data, challenging providers accordingly and investigating urgent quality issues and concerns.
The post-holder will lead the delivery of the ICB Quality Assurance Framework and will have a specific remit in management of routine/ enhanced quality monitoring; addressing underperformance where appropriate; directing remedial action plans; ensuring delivery of quality improvements; and oversight of clinical quality financial incentives schemes CQUIN/ quality premium.
The post-holder will develop and nurture key relationships, maintain networks internally and externally, including national networks, to support the building of strong, trustful and respectful relationships with partners to ensure patients receive safe, high quality care.

For hybrid working we offer the flexibility to work from an office (Bodmin, Truro), and from home, depending on the requirements of the team.
Person Specification Essential Essential Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
A professional nursing or allied health professional qualification and current registration with the nursing and midwifery council or HCPC.
Extensive knowledge of quality and patient safety requirements and monitoring and assurance processes against national requirements Committed to continuing professional development, actively developing and supporting a continuous learning culture.
Proven leadership experience Able to demonstrate compassion in the workplace with a track record of active challenge to support improvements in equality, diversity, inclusion, and/or social justice.
Professional credibility to work effectively with clinicians Confidence to question information and explanations supplied by others who may be experts in their field.
Excellent communication skills in a politically sensitive environment and be able to act as an ambassador for the ICB Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups' Negotiate on difficult and very complex and detailed issues.
