Job summary We are now recruiting for an Head of Catering -this role is a multifunctional role, and will cover the Patient Meal Service ,Hostess, Housekeeping & Retail Services, leading and managing a team of over 100 colleagues to ensure the highest standards of service are given to our patients, service users and colleagues,.
Our Catering Team which won Team of the Year, is passionate about our patients experience, and developing our service to meet the needs of our patients, colleagues and service users, but also that we work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, building upon the trusts foundations and right care values.
Informal visits to the department are encouraged.
Main duties of the job To facilitate an efficient and effective catering service for staff and visitors to Airedale General Hospital.
This role will be responsible for all catering operations and will have direct operational responsibility for the catering teams including budgetary responsibility.
The post holder will also have responsibility for policy implementation and service development.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to degree level or equivalent management experience Management/professional qualification or extensive experience at a senior level in Catering management Evidence of Continuous Professional Development Food Safety Level 4 Further post graduate qualification in catering/facilities management or sufficient experience gained in practice to equate to this level of training.
Desirable Recognised management qualification Evidence of postgraduate Food study Experience Essential Extensive experience of Catering management, significant senior management level experience Direct line management experience of large-scale multi-site operations with a diverse workforce of 50+ personnel Experience of managing managers Experience of business planning and with well- developed report and business case writing skills.
Ability to draw up action plans and ensure that deadlines are met in compliance with overall strategy.
Evidence of sound appreciation and achievement in management of financial targets and budgetary management Experience of successfully managing significant budgets and delivering against financial targets.

Knowledge and understanding of the Hospital Food Standards and the BDA Nutrition & Hydration Professional leadership Knowledge of Human Resources Management and excellent staff management skills Commercial experience gained in the management of outsourced contracts in a healthcare setting.
