About the RoleYou will: Manage the day-to-day operation of the complaints and FOI Teams, the records management team as well as the departmental secretariat and business support service, ensuring service standards are met.
Work with Corporate Resources DMT to review business support across the department including: Reviewing all complaints and information services to ensure the council is making best use of its available resources Reviewing business support activities to ensure that they are aligned with corporate and departmental objectives and make best use of the available technology Further developing the departments approach to service planning, risk and performance management in line with corporate guidelines to support the achievement of the organisations Strategic Plans Reviewing directorate support and producing proposals for improvements About YouTo apply for this post, you must have: Demonstrable experience of leading and managing a business support service in a diverse public sector organisation.
Demonstrable experience of advising on service planning and performance management processes which are aligned to the departments and council's strategic priorities Experience of finance/budgetary management.
Significant experience of strategic thinking and presenting and influencing at a senior level.
Successful track record of planning, managing and delivering programmes and/or projects, including continuous improvement, in time and on budget, securing organisational efficiencies where possible.
Working with local authority senior managers, Members or in a political environment.
Experience of leading service reviews and producing proposals for consultation.
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities, and the ability to apply this to all situations.
