The Client Our client is one of the leading Approved Inspectors offering building control services tailored to client requirements.
They provide solutions from the design phase to completion.
The Role Lead the Building Control Division with coverage across Yorkshire, North East, and North West.
Oversee major commercial and domestic projects, managing a team of RBIs and administrators.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and support client relationships through proactive building regulations plan checks and site inspections.
Work in accordance with company policy to deliver a customer-focused Building Control Service.
Lead, coach, and mentor RBIs and admin team members, promoting their professional development.
Collaborate with the CPO for recruitment and retention of motivated, trained staff.
Ensure team delivery against company objectives in collaboration with the COO.
Conduct internal audits for compliance with BSR standards.
Maintain up-to-date OSRs and identify opportunities for process improvements.
The Person Fully qualified (Classification 3G/3H and Technical 4) building control surveyor with senior or principal level experience in commercial and domestic projects.
Possess a recognized professional qualification (RICS, CABE).
Experience in a senior role within a Building Control office.
Thorough knowledge of Building Regulations and related legislation.
Understanding of IT systems relevant to building control.
Expertise in Structural engineering, Fire Safety, Access and facilities for disabled persons, and Building Services.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior staff.
Competent in investigating issues and producing briefings on complex topics for diverse audiences.
Ability to conduct site inspections in line with Corporate and Industry Health and Safety policies.
Previous experience implementing OSRs.
Up-to-date knowledge of BSR standards and requirements.
Full UK driving license.
