We're looking for a Head of Bioprocessing to lead our awesome team.As Head of Bioprocessing, you will be responsible for technical leadership of Hoxton Farms' bioprocessing programme, including bioreactor design, bioprocess optimisation and large-scale production. Working with company leadership, you will use your deep technical expertise to supervise experiments, plan project roadmaps and define the long-term strategic direction of our bioprocess R&D and production. At every step, you'll coordinate with our upstream R&D and food programmes to produce high quality cultivated fat at pilot scale and meet our technical milestones before series B and beyond. Hoxton Farms is growing quickly as we scale up our pilot manufacturing facility in London. This is an opportunity to lead a talented, enthusiastic and diverse team while playing a huge role in shaping the future of the cellular agriculture industry. You should be a highly experienced bioprocess engineer with a proven track record of hiring scientists, managing projects and building scientific strategy in a commercial setting.
The role is based full-time in person at our HQ in London. We are willing to support international relocation.
You should have:
8 years' industry experience in bioprocessingDeep technical expertise in mammalian cell culture scale-up (>200L), process optimisation and downstream processingExperience building and leading a team, managing a multidisciplinary technical roadmap and setting long-term cross-functional R&D strategyFamiliarity with GMP/GLP environmentsFamiliarity with building and running a manufacturing plantStrong communication skills and the ability to present complex technical information to diverse internal and external stakeholdersA bold mindset, ready to innovate and challenge industry standards in the design processIdeally you'll have experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:
Stem cell biologyRegulation for bioprocessing or food productionTech transfer with CDMOsStartup experience (series A or later)The benefits:
