As we continue to develop and enhance our offering to families of student-athletes, we have an exciting opportunity for a university admissions specialist to join our senior management team. Based remotely or at our head office in Glasgow, the role will lead our activity around the final phase of our recruitment service, providing guidance and expertise for international and US students on the various aspects of the admissions process.
Candidates should have senior level experience within the admissions function of the US education sector, demonstrate leadership qualities and have an in-depth understanding of the complexities of the university admissions process.
Secure suitable academic and sporting opportunities for clients that are aligned to their academic, athletic, and financial expectations.Leading FirstPoint USA's work within the admissions phase of our student-athlete serviceDeveloping expertise, guidance and insights to enhance our service offering around the admissions processProviding hands-on guidance and support to student-athletes and their families through the various stages of the admissions process, including the Common Application, financial aid, I20 and Visas, in line with each client's eligibilityTrain and develop the Talent Management team to consistently deliver an excellent service through the admissions phase of our processDevelop an admissions phase framework to ensure FirstPoint USA offers best practice student-athletes and their familiesDevelop a suite of resources to ensure effective communication to student-athletes and their families within the admissions phases, including webinars, guidance documents and presentationsLiaise with our network of university and college admissions counsellors to identify changes and trends within the sector, including revisions to US immigration legislation.Implement required changes to the process using insights and research to continually improve our serviceLiaise effectively with the wider Talent Management team within regarding updates and client advancement through the FirstPoint USA programStrive to reach and exceed set targets whilst maintaining qualityWeekly and monthly reporting on KPIs and other performance metrics, highlighting successes, opportunities and challengesReporting into Director of OperationsKEY SKILLSA minimum 5 years' experience as a University Admissions CounsellorExpert knowledge of the US admissions process and timeline, and an in depth understanding of US university admissions requirementsStrong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to establish and manage relationships with clients and their families, external stakeholders and colleaguesThe ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines in a challenging and demanding environment.A proven track record of meeting targets and delivering results.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.The ability to work independently and manage own time effectively.Highly motivated, positive, and resilient with an empathetic personality,Well-developed IT skills, covering Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.THE PACKAGEAs well as a competitive salary, investment in your personal development, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of benefits:
