After all, we believe in 'caring for our loved ones, like they cared for us!' Job Overview Bilton Hall Nursing Home is looking for a Head Cook to join its hardworking and friendly team, to effectively supervise the kitchen team to achieve the highest standard of food production and service.
About you You will have the ability to treat people with dignity.
You will have strong listening and observational skills to understand the unique needs and preferences of individuals.
You will also have some awareness of the challenges faced by the people in our care.

To regularly monitor stock control and to inform the Manager of any discrepancies.
To ensure proper stock rotation of foodstuffs to minimise wastage, and to dispose of promptly any foodstuff found to be past "sell-by" dates for any reason.
To prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, taking into account, the content, balance, colour and nutritional values of each meal, and promptly in accordance with agreed meal times.
This will include special diet meals as needed, and as directed through appropriate Diet Sheets / Care Plans.
To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas at all times, in accordance with the appropriate Food Hygiene Regulations, ensuring cleaning and deep schedule schedules and rotas are completed appropriately.
To assist in the monitoring and recording of refrigerator, chiller and freezer temperatures in accordance with Environmental Health requirements.
Job Requirements NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is desirable Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate A good knowledge of kitchen stock management/ordering and menu planning 1 years of previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
