Head Chef My client, a stunning Lake District Hotel property, is looking for a Head Chef to join the team, someone who is not only an excellent chef but someone who has a business mind and strong management skills.
They are looking for someone who is creative & positive, leads from the front with strong engagement and likes to get involved in management discussions, wider business discussions and takes ownership of their team & department.
Hotel Current Dining options: The Restaurant presently offers a set price rosette menu for dinner.
There are 3 options available for starters, mains & desserts with additional set courses including a snack, bread & savoury.
However, this is a relatively new format, and you should bring fresh input & ideas to drive sales & covers.
The Bistro is a casual & informal dining option where they offer lunch & dinner each day.
Breakfast is offered daily for hotel residents in the Restaurant.
The hotel also offers a hamper breakfast to guests staying in the Suites.
As well as lunch in the Bistro, there is also a lounge menu available each day, and a Terrace menu throughout the Spring & Summer months.
On a Sunday a set price 3 course Sunday Lunch is available.
Afternoon Tea is very popular throughout the year.
They host Exclusive Use weddings , as well as small conferences & functions for lunches, afternoon teas and dinners.
The Hotel is beautifully situated on the shores of a Lake and has 36 rooms including suites.

You will be responsible for managing the cost of payroll for the team, ensuring they are utilising their skills as much as possible.
You will be responsible for managing and controlling the costs & costings to achieve GP.
Inputting invoices.
Work closely with sales & marketing to create and develop the marketing plan and continue the food development.
Liaising with marketing to organise photoshoots to promote and expose the food offerings at Storrs Hall.
Work closely with the local colleges to expose Storrs Hall as well as helping to inspire the next generation of chefs and find new apprentices to join the team.
Network with the local chefs circles, apprentice schemes & suppliers, get involved with local events, fairs and charities to keep up to date with things happening in the area and attract new people to Storrs Hall.
Liaise with the local suppliers to ensure that you are getting the best products & prices.
Ensure the management of legislation & controls points, health & safety procedures and risk assessments are up to date & followed by everyone.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, storage areas, fridges & freezers.
Ensure that allergens sheets are created for each new dish and shared with all departments.
