Job summary The gynaecology outpatient department at Hinchingbrooke Hospital is a dedicated unit caring for women's health across a wide range of specialities including colposcopy, hysteroscopy, early pregnancy, urogynaecology, fertility and general gynaecology.
We offer 2ww, routine and urgent appointments, and work as a multi-disciplinary team including healthcare assistants, nurse specialists, physiotherapists and medical staff.Are you a positive role model, with a good range of clinical skills, passionate about women's health care?

As the termination of pregnancy service is run from the department, the successful person must be pro-choice.There will be clinical aspects to this role and the successful candidate should be knowledgeable in gynaecology procedures.
****Please note we are not eligible to sponsor for this post**** Main duties of the job The successful candidate will support the Band 7, Outpatients Sister, and be responsible for the day to day management of the gynaecology outpatients department, including clinic utilisation and staffing.The Deputy Sister will be a patient advocate and ensure safe, quality care for all service users.
This will include clinical governance, audit and quality.The role will include clinical sessions as well as staff support such as training, development and education of the team.

Job description Job responsibilities Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of this position Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential NMC registration with ongoing professional development Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience Desirable Certification in management or leadership Experience Essential Minimum 2 years post qualification and experience in senior nurse role Desirable Clinical experience working within gynaecology, and preferably outpatients Experience in teaching, presenting, assessing, coaching Knowledge and participation in risk and clinical governance agendas Knowledge Essential Awareness of women's health priorities and local/national issues relating to healthcare provision Knowledge of safe handling and management of medicines Ability to manage, lead and empower a team of staff, demonstrating strong effective leadership qualities Key Skills Essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills, across all levels of health care as well as patients/carers Proven multi-disciplinary team working Experience of working on own initiative and managing time effectively Ability to develop self and others to use evidence based practice IT skills, able to use e-trac, Anglia ICE, careflow, healthrosters, datix web Ability to resolve conflict Demonstrate ability to act as patient advocate Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment, and remain calm under pressure Desirable Clinical skills, such as setting up and supporting colposcopy and hysteroscopy clinics and venepuncture skill
