Title: Group Procurement Manager Reporting To: Head of Procurement and Food & Beverage Dalata Hotel Group plc is Ireland's largest hotel operator, with a current portfolio of 56 hotels with over 12,000 rooms and a pipeline of circa 800 rooms.
Dalata successfully operate Ireland's two largest hotel brands, the Clayton and the Maldron Hotels across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe, as well as managing a small portfolio of partner hotels.
This newly created role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's success and to lead a dynamic Procurement team with purchasing contracts across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Role Responsibilities: Conducting market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities and pricing fluctuations.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.
Source and negotiate with potential suppliers, assess their capabilities and evaluate their suitability based on predefined criteria.
Maintain, implement and report compliance with our supplier code of conduct across Dalata's supplier network.
Identifying, evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers through a full and intensive tender process.
Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency while continuously evaluating and improving procurement practices.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics and cost savings to higher management.
Implement sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices, including supporting local suppliers and promoting ethical sourcing.
Proactively manage regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations activities including, but not limited to, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Preferred skills and qualifications Over five years' experience as a purchasing manager in a multi-site environment.
In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, strategies and best practices.
Demonstrable experience in the UK and Irish market and familiarity with local suppliers and sourcing channels.
Experience in implementing sustainable and socially responsible procurement practices.
Experience in supplier identification, development, and tendering.
Strong analytical and financial skills to support procurement operations and strategies.
Strong skills in budgeting, cost optimisation and negotiation techniques.
An analytical mind with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams as well as strong influencing skills.
Ability to lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
This role is full time, permanent and based in either: Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport; or Dalata Hotel Group Offices in Sandyford, Dublin 18 We offer a hybrid option to allow the team to work in the office three days per week and from home two days per week.
This role will require significant planned travel across the Group.
