The Opportunity: Responsible for developing the Health & Safety strategy for Clarion with the Group Operations Director. Deliver the strategy including implementation of process, managing wider business risks, training, audits, reporting, managing the H&S budget and coordinating with all business portfolios on their needs.
Key Responsibilities: Foster a positive Health and Safety (H&S) culture across Clarion and its events.Ensure compliance with H&S governance in alignment with the Group Ops Director and company policies.Develop, implement, and review H&S policies, continuously improve standards.Assess training needs, introduce new courses, and maintain ongoing employee competency in H&S.Manage relationships with external H&S consultants and oversee the H&S budget.Conduct annual risk reviews, preparing reports with highlights and recommendations.Manage major incidents, support duty directors, and contribute to the Business Continuity Plan.Perform H&S assessments for acquisitions, harmonizing processes across entities.Support international offices in maintaining compliance with global H&S practices.Oversee the creation, implementation, and maintenance of H&S standards, templates, and documentation.Coordinate employee training, onboarding, and maintain an up-to-date training and qualifications register.Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours: Hands-on approach with experience in exhibitions, event management, and H&S.Enthusiastic and proactive, with a strong interest in promoting H&S best practices.Excellent relationship-building skills, persuasive, and able to influence key stakeholders.Highly organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented, with the ability to create actionable plans.Strong communication skills, adaptable across various seniority levels and cultures.Solution-focused with a positive attitude towards addressing and resolving issues.Competent in risk assessments, familiar with H&S documentation, and proficient in Microsoft Office.Flexible and effective in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.IOSH Certified.NEBOSH Certified, or willing to work towards equivalent certification, demonstrating commitment to professional development.
