With several acquisitions already completed and a robust pipeline in place, the business is positioned for rapid expansion, with a planned exit in the next 2-3 years.
This role offers the chance to work closely with an established Private Equity CFO, leading a talented finance team while playing a pivotal role in shaping the company's financial future during this transformative period.
The Role The Group Financial Controller will report directly to the CFO and lead a finance team of 8, taking full responsibility for technical finance, compliance, and reporting.
This individual will act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, ensuring financial rigour and supporting both pre- and post-deal activities.
The role also involves driving system optimisation to enhance scalability and ensure seamless integration of acquisitions.
Lead the group's financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Oversee technical accounting, tax, and compliance matters across the business.
Support M&A activity, including pre-deal financial due diligence and post-deal integration.
Partner with the CFO and senior leadership team to provide robust financial insights to drive strategic decision-making.
Optimise financial systems and processes to support the group's rapid growth and acquisitions.
Manage and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring they are equipped to meet the demands of a fast-paced, evolving business.
Produce consolidated group accounts and deliver reporting to Private Equity investors.
Drive internal controls, ensuring they remain robust as the group scales.
Act as the key technical finance lead, providing a "rock-solid" foundation for the finance function during the company's high-growth phase.
The Requirements: The ideal candidate will be a technically strong and commercially aware finance professional with a track record of success in high-growth environments.
They will thrive in a Private Equity-backed setting, balancing technical precision with a strategic outlook.
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
Proven experience in technical finance, compliance, and reporting in a group structure.
Familiarity with Private Equity-backed businesses and buy-and-build strategies is highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of M&A processes, including pre-deal preparation and post-deal integration.
Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
Hands-on approach with experience leading and developing finance teams.
Proficient in financial system optimisation and process improvement.
