Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Director of Landscape Design and Operations to join our dynamic team.
This senior-level role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic appeal and environmental sustainability of our prestigious portfolio, which includes luxury resorts and mid-range hotels across the Caribbean and Central America.
The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for landscape architecture, horticulture, and sustainable design, coupled with strong leadership and project management abilities.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Landscape Planning: Develop and implement the company's landscape design strategy, ensuring alignment with the brand's luxury and mid-range positioning.
Oversee all landscaping projects from initial concept to completion, including new installations, renovations, and ongoing maintenance.
Design Excellence: Lead the creation of innovative and aesthetically pleasing landscape designs that enhance the guest experience, harmonize with the natural environment, and reflect the unique character of each property.
Sustainability Leadership: Integrate sustainable practices into all landscape projects, focusing on water conservation, native plant use, and environmentally friendly maintenance techniques.
Operational Oversight: Manage all aspects of landscape operations, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and quality control.
Ensure that all landscape maintenance activities are conducted to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship.
Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of landscape architects, designers, horticulturists, and grounds maintenance staff.
Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring that all work meets the company's standards for quality and is completed on time and within budget.
Project Management: Lead the planning and execution of large-scale landscaping projects, including new resort developments and major renovations.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of landscape design with overall property development.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior management, property managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that landscape design and operations align with the company's overall strategic goals and enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field.
Extensive experience in landscape design and operations, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Proven track record of leading large-scale landscape projects from concept to completion.
Strong knowledge of sustainable landscape practices and environmental design.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
Outstanding project management abilities, with experience in budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
