As a Group Account Director at Right Formula, you will play a pivotal role overseeing a portfolio of client accounts within the sports marketing and sponsorship sector, with a particular focus on managing and nurturing high-level partnerships in Formula 1 and other global sports arenas. This is a senior position, responsible for strategic account oversight, supporting client operations, and serving as a primary escalation point within your portfolio.
You will ensure that all client partnerships are set up for success, supported by a highly collaborative integrated account team (including Strategy, Creative, PR & Comms, Digital & Content). Strong relationship-building skills are crucial, along with a proactive mindset for introducing innovative ideas and perspectives. This role demands a confident approach, with the ability to create and present ideas and strategies directly to clients with clarity and assurance.
The role will be based at Right Formula's offices in Battersea, London, and will require international travel, approximately 5-6 strategically key events.
Key Responsibilities Oversee a portfolio of client accounts, acting as the primary escalation point and trusted advisor to build and maintain strong client relationships.Drive strategic direction and activation of partnership programs across markets, ensuring alignment with client objectives and fostering collaboration within the integrated account team.Lead, manage and inspire the account teams to excel on the delivery of all work streams, ensuring alignment between account teams, operations and the agency's strategic objectives.Set client service standards and processes for the account teams.Ensure thorough understanding of relevant client contracts to support delivery, renewal and growth conversations.Identify high-level opportunities for cross-selling and upselling across the client portfolio via client review sessions.Collaborate in a timely manner with internal stakeholders to capitalise on growth opportunities through strategic pitches, and key client issues are shared.Identify and challenge agency wide activation tactics, keeping in mind to push the limits.Manage budget negotiations with the client for the forthcoming year and its subsequent management, including internal budget setting, resource allocation, utilisation rates and regular client reporting.Overall client satisfaction across multiple accounts, ensuring growth and retention (e.g. leading CSAT/client interview sessions and assessing feedback).Support the senior team and be a strong advocate for the agency internally and externally.Skills and Experience Required 12+ years in relevant global agency or client-based experience in the sports and entertainment industries.Knowledge and expertise working across Formula 1, Formula E and MotoGP.In depth knowledge and experience of amplifying sports partnership across the marketing spectrum, with a strong focus on integrated marketing planning and hospitality delivery at a global level.Demonstrable experience strategically growing client accounts and nurturing professional client relationships at C-suite level.Significant experience managing large, multi-faceted teams and multiple accounts.Experience implementing client service standards and processes for a large team.Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, account profitability and resource management.Demonstrable experience of performance evaluation techniques and metrics.Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with the aptitude to foster long-term relationships.Excellent organisational skills with the confidence to manage different projects across multiple work streams.Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills.Additional Capabilities Creative & passionate about sponsorship, brand experience and hospitality delivery.Proactive at delivering projects to tight & challenging deadlines.Ability to problem-solve independently and in groups.The willingness to note relevant trends, learn new skills and develop creative ideas.Can lead and inspire a team across multiple workstreams and projects.Energetic self-starter.Willingness to work flexible work hours, including weekends.What We Can Offer Hybrid working (3 days in the office per week).Private health insurance.Contributory pension scheme.Annual discretionary bonus scheme.Enhanced maternity leave.Individual training budget.Cycle to work scheme.
