Join our dedicated Grounds team as a Groundsman Apprentice, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring our grounds are kept in top condition.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills and gain valuable experience in grounds maintenance, supported by a team of experienced professionals.
The Role: As a Groundsman Apprentice, you will work closely with our Grounds Team Leader and the broader grounds maintenance team to perform a variety of essential tasks.
Your role will involve maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring the grounds are presented to the highest standards.
You will receive training to ensure you adhere to all health, safety, and environmental practices, making you a key player in maintaining our site's aesthetic and functional quality.
Key Responsibilities: Grounds Maintenance: Ensure that site grounds are maintained and presented to the highest possible standards using a range of machinery, equipment, and techniques.
Perform all aspects of grounds preparation, including mowing, seeding, weeding, and spraying.
Prune trees in line with the site plan, remove dead wood, and chip as necessary.
Maintain neighbouring borders by strimming, weeding, and spraying as needed.
Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance of grounds equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety standards and comply with company policies and procedures.
Work safely, efficiently, and effectively at all times.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with grounds operatives as part of a team.
Operate independently when required, managing tasks with minimal supervision.
Fleet Support: Assist with the maintenance of the DCS fleet, ensuring vehicles remain in roadworthy condition.
Site Management: Ensure all external areas of hygiene are maintained to a very high standard.
Distribute deliveries received on site as needed.
Training and Development: Health & Safety Induction Grounds Maintenance Techniques Equipment Operation and Safety Ongoing training relevant to the role Qualifications: Essential: English & Maths GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent qualifications.
