Are you ready for a hands-on role in heavy engineering?
Our client based in Lincoln is on the lookout for a skilled Grinding Operative to join their team on a permanent, full-time contract.
You'll be working on shaft and pins, grinding to precise tolerances on components that weigh anywhere from 500kg to 16 tonnes.
This is a key role within their team, and they're looking for someone who thrives in a heavy engineering environment.
What you'll be doing: - Setting and operating cylindrical grinding machines to achieve precise finishes.
- Handling large components safely using lifting and handling equipment.
- Reading engineering drawings and working to exact specifications.
- Inspecting and checking your work using precision tools like micrometres and callipers.
- Keeping equipment running smoothly and troubleshooting minor issues as needed.
- Working safety and supporting the team to meet production goals.
What we're looking for: - Hands-on experience as a Grinding Operative - A proactive problem-solver who's comfortable working in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings with excellent attention to detail - Formal Qualifications are preferred, ideally Level 1 as a minimum – must have a knowledge of health and safety and be able to read from drawings What's in it for you: - Hours: Monday to Friday Days Initially 7am to 3:30pm, with some lates 3:30pm to 2am with shift allowance.
- Probation Period: Initial 3-month probation period to ensure the role is the right fit for you.
