The Grinder's main tasks are: To operate all types of grinding machines to fine limitsTo be able to work unsupervised/ minimal supervisionTo be able to read and understand technical drawingsTo be able to work with cylindrical and surface grinding machinesAn awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company's environmental proceduresYou will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) bookYou may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experienceAll duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures The ideal Grinder should meet the following requirements: Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalentAbility to communicate fluently in written and spoken EnglishExtensive experience working internal and external grinding machines.
Knowledge of both essential Aerospace background not essential but would be preferredExperience of working with cylindrical and surface grinding machinesKnowledge of CNC grinding preferableGood communicator - ability to communicate with staff on business, and other issues that affect the businessGood planning, organisation and administration skills, PC literateAbility to make decisions and problem solving skillsThe position requires from time to time flexibility in working hours including working overtime at weekendsThe position involves the training and use of overhead cranesThe job requires the applicant to understand manual handlingThe job requires the use of hand tools and power toolsThe position involves the use of complex machineryCandidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted
