An Exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a leading solar energy developer.
Specializing in the development of large-scale, grid-connected solar and energy storage projects, you would play a key role in their growth within the UK market.
Your primary responsibility will be to manage the grid connection aspects of projects from initial conception to planning submission and through transaction due diligence.
Key Responsibilities: Identifying new project leads using GIS and working with various teams until the lead progresses into an active project.
Submitting formal grid connection applications.
Designing, specifying, and budgeting for substation and grid infrastructure equipment needed for project connections.
Mentoring and sharing knowledge with less experienced team members.
Engaging with network operators and trade bodies at events, ensuring policies support renewable energy deployment and the path to net-zero.
Collaborating with ICPs, TAs, and other relevant technical partners.
Reviewing technical standards and policy documents, implementing design and process improvements where needed.
Acting as the primary technical and grid design expert, offering support throughout project development.
Assisting with transaction due diligence, addressing grid-related queries.
Liaising with network operators to ensure project progress and compliance with procedural and technical requirements.
Skills and Experience: Team-oriented, with strong communication and organizational skills.
At least 4 years of experience in grid connections.
Proficient in MS Office and Excel, with experience creating models to assist with designs/assessments.
Knowledge of protection communication requirements.
Commercial awareness of how design choices impact project profitability.
Financial modeling skills are a plus.
Experience with power modeling software (e.g., DigSilent) and multi-megawatt solar installations (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst) is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with working with distribution and transmission network operators.
Bachelors degree in renewable energy, engineering, or a related discipline.
