GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are looking for a motivated and energetic Graduate Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Barnsley.

As a Graduate Teacher, you will oversee classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring that students complete their assigned tasks and adhere to the provided lesson plans.
You will foster a positive learning environment while supporting students in their work and effectively managing classroom behaviour.
Responsibilities of the Graduate Teacher: Supervise classrooms during teacher absences to ensure continuity of learning.
Implement lesson plans and facilitate student comprehension and task completion.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement.
Provide academic and emotional support to students, offering guidance as needed.
Monitor behaviour and enforce effective management strategies to uphold discipline.
Communicate with teachers and staff regarding student progress and concerns.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning needs.
Engage in professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements of the Graduate Teacher: Graduate Teacher or Cover Supervisor qualification, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, would be beneficial but not mandatory.
Recent graduate with a passion for education.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A positive and proactive attitude towards teaching and learning.
Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices.
Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare is an advantage.
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
