2 well-established Primary Schools in North Tyne are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work with their SEN children in an academic and emotional capacity.
Both schools are run by nurturing Headteachers who are keen to best support their learners with ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia and other complex learning needs.
As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work to support the class teachers in meeting these childrens' needs, through providing 1:1, small-group and whole-class support... Job specification: Full-time Mon-Fri 8.30am-3.30pm Work closely with SEN children aged 4-11 Help support their social, emotional and academic development to allow them to reach their potential Work 1:1, in small-groups and whole classes to support the needs of SEN children Character specification: Be a patient, hardworking Graduate from a top UK University with a desire to work with SEN children aged 4-11 Exprience working in school-based settings, with children aged 4-11, or with SEN desirable Welcome being part of a nurturing, dedicated team of friendly, warm staff and students Be looking for a long-term role lasting at least until the end of the academic year Enjoy the prospect of helping children with ASD, ADHD and other complex SEN thrive Be available for interview or trial as soon as possible The large Primary Schools are located closely together in a relatively deprived catchment area, with a high levels of complex, acute SEN in children across all ages.
This challenging environment requires sensitivity to ranging socioeconomic situations, and ability to adapt to changing situations.
Previous experience working in a School, other Primary-aged setting or with SEN individuals is desired.
