As a Graduate Control Systems Engineer, you will support the development of innovative control system solutions for AEUK's above-water and underwater systems and products.

As a Graduate Control Systems Engineer, you will use and develop technical knowledge to offer solutions to problems thinking innovatively and creatively within a robust engineering framework.
You will be offered a permanent role from day one and step onto a 2 year Graduate Scheme to develop your skills and hands on application of theory.
Suitably experienced and qualified mentors are provided to each of the graduates to further support their professional progress.
The scheme is closely monitored with regular reviews and a graduate training programme including a project set by the Senior Management Team.
The graduates will continue to be mentored and get support from the company as well as the committee that oversees the scheme until they achieve their desired incorporated or chartered status.
What we are looking for in you: • On course for a degree in Control System engineering (or related discipline: Electronics, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems etc) • Understanding of control system theory and and modelling of system behaviour for system design and validation activities • Understanding of Engineering/Systems Engineering process • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact with people at all levels both within the company and externally • Computer literacy in order to operate information systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Strong team focus • Strong time management skills • Ability to work independently at times under own initiative • Ability to use own initiative when working under pressure • Prioritise and manage personal workload to ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Willingness to travel in the UK and overseas Desirable primary Control System Skills Knowledge of one or more of the following: • Control Systems Theory • Control Systems Modelling • Matlab/Simulink and supporting toolboxes • PLC control • Knowledge of hardware in the loop and software in the loop testing • Knowledge of developing, testing and evaluating theoretical and prototype designs • Experience/familiarity with software development lifecycles • Knowledge of machine learning/AI and its application to Control System design and integration Challenges • Working in a dynamic and fast paced environment • Balancing conflicting requirements • Work effectively across multiple departments Key accountabilities • Responsible for supporting and delivering key Control System products across the product lifecycle • Working closely with the project teams including the System Design Authority, Engineering Manager and Team Engineers • Attending client and supplier meetings.
• Attending and supporting equipment tests.
