The Global Regulatory Product Science Team Lead, who oversees a team of Product Scientists aligned with a specific product portfolio, reports directly to the Global Regulatory Product Sciences Lead. The Science team Lead will manage a group of product scientists working on the AI strategies related to a product portfolio, in this position they will embrace the interdependence among global regulatory strategy and regional registration needs which underlie Gowan's selection, development and registration of crop protection solutions. The Global Regulatory Product Science Team Lead needs to have relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders as well as a close connection to Gowan's commercial priorities and needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead, listen, inspire, and connect the related product science team with key stakeholders working within their fields on Gowan projects whilst maintaining a keen understanding of commercial objectives.
Will be a key member of the associated asset team as the regulatory representative and main contact linked to their product portfolio, they will participate in all asset team meetings, regional strategy meetings and be the link between their portfolio science team and the related asset team strategies.
Maintain a high-level of professionalism, efficiency, and follow-through as the primary technical regulatory liaison for the assigned asset portfolio.
Supervise the relevant product science team and maintain oversight of the asset strategies associated with that portfolio. Working through this group, the science team lead will be responsible for sound and well executed AI strategies that support and defend Gowan's product line and deliver new registrations around the world.
For any personally assigned AI's take responsibility for the timely compilation and management of all necessary studies and scientific documentation for regulatory submissions to support new active substances, confirmatory data and re-registrations of existing active substances.
Own, lead and coordinate the budget requirements to register, maintain or defend AI's in the relevant portfolio on an annual basis and also in a longer-term horizon, define the recourse commitments and needs aligned with the regulatory and business strategies.
Responsible for the team's timely management and the quality of the regulatory submissions that support our license to sell as well as post-approval defense or supplements.
Manage the day-to-day people aspect of the employees (including but not exclusively Performance goals, development plans, salary discussions, sickness, vacation, training, travel etc.) in the relevant team.
Facilitate and advocate scientific underpinnings and aspects of company plans and product specific actions.
Work effectively with the regional registration teams and the global science discipline teams to communicate and align portfolio related activities that register, maintain and defend Gowan Company products internally and externally
Work with Business Development and Asset Managers to guide new product selection and with Development to synchronize new product advancement.
Support product science team operational excellence as well as proactively communicating cross-functionally in support of internal and partner associated goals. Serving and participating in internal and/or external committees is also required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in science or a related field. Masters in a science or regulatory discipline or Doctorate preferred
Extensive experience (at least 10 years) in regulatory affairs with a strong focus on regulatory strategy and multi-year planning in the pesticide industry
