Purpose of role: This role will be responsible for the Global Business Development (BD) strategy to drive growth of the brand in terms of engagement, trial and recruitment along with revenue generation with a particular focus on global strategic amenity partnerships, corporate gifting, niche retailers and framing for regional wholesale/amenity focused BD teams. Also animate the global BD teams to deliver accurate financials and processes.
Key responsibilities: Develop Global Business Development strategy for amenity partnerships (hotels, restaurants, galleries, etc.) for Zones to use to set their strategy that drives growth in the channel in line with Global ambitions.Recruit and manage global amenity partners (i.e. hotel chains).Refine aligned partner selection criteria and approval processes.Develop corporate gifting global strategy and new partnerships (i.e. partnerships outside hotels/restaurants).Frame and develop approach for BD into stockists that drive brand image and positioning.Develop a channel toolkit with cross functional support (product, marketing, PR, VM). New product development fit for the channel.Work in partnership with Heads of BD in zones as well as Zone General Managers, particularly on Global accounts that sit in respective zones.Develop existing and new global accounts ensuring sales margins and brand equity through marketing and PR activations.Focus on growth through new market entry and driving awareness aligned to new store openings.Build a strong community within the BD channel at Aesop, bringing all Zones closer together, in the spirit of closer collaboration, sharing knowledge/learnings and insights to drive sustainable growth across all zones.Create a highly capable, engaged and empowered business development community.Global contact with relevant L'Oréal counterparts/teams for support where needed (regulatory, tech solutions, distribution channels).Provide learnings to relevant L'Oréal teams and give opportunities for business where currently not considered (for instance hotel/airline amenities for LL brands).Follow and drive monthly forecasting cycles for the channels, coordinate with the regional teams to deliver financial commitments and ensure smooth operational processes.Who we are looking for: Extensive progressive experience in Business Development roles within luxury retail environment.Proven history of successful influence and stakeholder management to deliver an outcome.Experience of working in a matrix organization across multiple geographies.Extensive knowledge of hospitality industry ideally with key contacts within hotel, F&B and other hospitality industries.Understanding of hospitality channels and commercial models.Deep understanding of trends, connected to on-trend communities and neighbourhoods.Highly Organized and Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and accurately.Innovative Mindset: A forward-thinking approach, embracing new ideas and challenges.Strong Negotiation and Persuasion Skills: Proven track record of successful negotiation and influence.Engaging Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of captivating diverse audiences.Growth-Oriented: A self-motivated individual with a passion for continuous learning and development.Relationship Builder: Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.Sales-Driven.What's on offer: We take a holistic approach to employment, promoting professional development, career growth, employee wellbeing initiatives and encouraging deep connections with the local community through the Aesop Foundation, volunteering and matched giving programs.
