The site supports around 1670 patients, the majority of whom are aged between 30-39; however, the site has recently had a cohort of elderly patients join who will need support with long-term conditions. Because of this, the role would suit a GP who enjoys delivering end-to-end care. HMP Five Wells is a state-of-the-art prison offering a modern clinical environment and facilities. You will be working closely with a large multi-disciplinary team, as well as working alongside another General Practitioner Monday to Wednesday.
Hours Monday and Friday 8.30am-5pm. This role is a part-time role working 16 hours/4 sessions per week.
Salary You'll receive an annual salary up to £125,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing: As a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, providing opportunities to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice or A&E environment. Providing clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient requirements and making timely decisions regarding future management. Acting as a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at the site, as well as the patients you work with, and having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities. Qualifications required: MBChB or MBBS with inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List. Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal. Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice. Evidence of continuing professional development. Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse. RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
