The Client Loom Talent are working with a forward-thinking 3PL provider, renowned for its commitment to delivering top-notch service through logistics solutions in the fast-moving world of FMCG.
As a key player in the industry, they operate a ranging service offering from bulk loads, multi-drop, temperature controlled distribution - with an ever expanding customer base now seeking a General Manager to join the company.
The Role As the General Manager (Warehouse & Transport), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing end to end operations, leading a well-established Logistics operation.
Your responsibilities will include: Managing warehouse space totalling c. 50,000 sq.
ft. Providing leadership support to the management team across the region - c.50+ vehicles and drivers.
Management of a budget in excess of £5m per year.
Lead all operational H&S and Compliance agendas across your region, whilst having a broader influence UK wide within the contract.
Ensuring seamless coordination and optimisation of logistics operations from an internal synergy and continuous improvement perspective.
Implementing best practices in warehouse and transport management, whilst ensuring sufficient usage of the WMS & TMS platforms.
To help support and develop individuals, provide developmental opportunities within the business.
Take ownership of the regions continuous improvement and network optimisation strategy.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications: The successful candidate for the General Manager (Warehouse & Transport) position will possess: A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Background - Essential.
A National/International CPC qualification - Advantageous.
Exposure to both Warehouse & Transport leadership roles - Essential.
Past budget responsibility of over £3m - Essential.
Proven experience in managing medium single site, or multi-site warehouse and transport operations - Essential.
Lean Six Sigma or Prince2 Qualification - Advantageous.
A true passion for people development, providing excellent service and continuous improvement.
Strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence.
Able to commute to the Peterborough region for 5 x days per week - Essential.
