The General Manager (GM) is required to be a highly engaged team player with strong entrepreneurial and strategic skills who can impact positively on the growth and success of the company.
The General Manager is expected to develop and implement a strategic plan for the company in their respective country, reporting to the VP Regional GM.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
The General Manager (GM) is the country leader, accountable for the short, mid, and long-term development, success, and sustainable growth of the people and the business, ensuring the team are aligned and executing within the Jazz values and compliance framework.
The GM will collaborate closely with the GMs of other countries and with regional stakeholders (e.g., Business Unit Heads), as part of a cross-functional leadership team that drives the organisation forward as one.
As a role model, the GM will create a highly desirable place to work with a culture of high engagement and performance with the patient at the centre of everything the business does.
The GM holds the legal, fiduciary, and reputational responsibilities for their local market.Build and lead the country with confidence, passion, and high energy.

Develop and implement a business plan for the country through strong cross-functional working.

Hire, organise, and align resources to deliver the plan.
Design appropriate performance metrics and achieve accountability at account, regional, and national level.
Facilitate and oversee the building and implementation of a strategic business plan by the BUDs that clearly identifies the potential in the local market in which the company will compete.
Drive the growth of the country business by establishing sales goals for existing products and successfully launch new indications and products.
Highlight opportunities to the regional team, even if these are not within their current brand focus.
Recognise market opportunities for both new and current products, act accordingly and take appropriate risks when opportunities arise.
Work closely with PRMA lead to ensure patient access for Jazz products within affiliate healthcare systems.
Identify and execute on opportunities to drive growth within the existing portfolio both regionally and nationally.
Ensure effective financial planning.
Continually review financial results to identify variances; develop action plans to address issues.
Optimise the P&L to deliver targeted revenue and profit contribution.
Oversee the GDP Quality System and yearly quality management review of GDP activities.
Oversight of the responsible leader for GDP activities in country.
Accountable for Legal and Compliance matters within their Market(s), working cross-functionally with the responsible central functional teams.
Help to shape the culture, vision, and working environment and have a broad impact within EUR/INT.
Contribute to foster a positive social climate with our internal and external partners and representatives, as the works council chair.
(For WC/JCC countries only) Local P&L accountability for the market.
Coordination and planning of cost budgets, people, and time management.
Monitors, analyses sales and market trends.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A seasoned and well-rounded General Manager with extensive experience in a variety of sales, marketing, market access, business development roles of progressively greater scope and responsibility.
A solid representative of the market, with experience in conducting challenging conversations on behalf of the company.
General management experience is preferable but not essential.
Successful cross-functional leadership and management experience with direct responsibility for a senior management team, and able to work in a matrix environment.
Demonstrated track record of building and developing teams and individuals.
Extensive experience in delivering top line growth and bottom-line performance.
In-depth knowledge of Pricing and Reimbursement mechanisms and stakeholders at a local level, including political and health policy agendas and general market downsides.
Tangible experience and a track record of delivering Market Access, launch strategies and programs, broadening patient access and driving long-term growth of brands.
Proven command of classic and innovative marketing disciplines and techniques.
Demonstrated success in commercial planning, launching products, and life cycle management is important.
A strong business orientation and the ability to view issues from multiple perspectives, and through the "lens" of different functions.
Experience from working collaboratively and cross-functionally with marketing brand teams, market research, market access, sales, medical affairs, business development, legal, regulatory and co-promotion partners.
Broad knowledge of the local pharmaceutical industry and specific expertise in multiple therapeutic areas.
Strong external focus and experience of engaging and influencing externally (government relations).
Knowledge and understanding of the markets dynamics, including awareness of competitors products.
Diligently monitors progress and proactively addresses variances.
Experience in specialty products is required, preferably in the area of neuroscience, hematology, and oncology.
Knowledge and experience of successfully leading the commercialization of rare and orphan diseases would be beneficial.
