About Phillip Island Golf Club (PIGC) is seeking to appoint a General Manager and invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified applicants under the following conditions:
The Position Reporting to PIGC's Board of Management (the Board), the General Manager will be responsible for directing and managing PIGC in line with the organisational objectives and policies set by the Board. The General Manager will also ensure that PIGC is commercially oriented and viable in the long term through the provision of high-quality, cost-effective services to its members, guests, sponsors, and the general public.
PIGC will be offering a competitive remuneration package based on the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.
Applicants will require experience in the following fields: Experience in managing staff responsible for the day-to-day operations of a golf club, including its course and machinery, golf shop, membership, food and beverage services, and administration office. Proven record of having overseen positive business growth at a similar club. Strong leadership, mentoring, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of the legal and compliance obligations of a fully licensed hospitality venue and golf club. Sound financial management skills. Sound marketing experience across all forms of media. Strong communication and interpersonal skills ensuring a service-focused environment for members, guests, and staff. Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to: Implement systems and strategies that will build on our already growing club, providing outstanding service to its members, guests, sponsors, and the general public. Contribute to and support policies approved by the Board. Lead and manage the implementation of PIGC's strategic plan by monitoring, measuring, and reporting on progress. Promote PIGC and its facilities within the local community and throughout the golf industry. Provide a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to measure resulting success. Provide sound business-development skills from previous experience. Build strong relationships with members, staff, and the wider community that will deliver tangible benefits to PIGC. Ensure a safe sporting, hospitality, and working environment for all members, visitors, and staff. Lead a team to success as evidenced by past results. Apply sound financial, budgeting, analytical, and reporting skills, including the ability to interpret financial reports and to make sound decisions based on that data.
