As General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, performance, and leadership within your domain.
You'll own the strategy, P&L, and execution of initiatives, co-ordinating and collaborating with teams across the business to achieve organisational goals.

We are looking for someone who is data-driven, results-oriented, and an inspirational leader capable of navigating complexity and creating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.



Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Direction Developing and delivering a compelling strategy grounded in data, market insight and aligned with Confused.com and RVU's overall vision.Collaborating proactively with Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams to create integrated plans.Leading continuous planning cycles, ensuring accountability and adaptability to change.Regularly validating and updating your strategy to keep pace with market trends and organisational priorities.

Operations Driving high-quality trading meetings to ensure deep understanding of your area and challenging the business to improve.Owning budgeting and forecasting processes, setting detailed, assumption-based budgets and delivering rational updates.Achieving or exceeding business performance targets, including financial results, KPIs, and customer outcomes.Acting as the primary source of insight and communication for results, variances, and business cases.


Leadership Taking radical ownership of execution by identifying problems, mitigating risks, and finding innovative solutions.Balancing strategic enablement with hands-on troubleshooting to drive results.Prioritising initiatives that deliver the greatest impact, ensuring focus and efficiency.Evangelising the strategy, educating stakeholders, and aligning cross-functional goals.Ensuring team objectives are strategically aligned and fostering collaboration across Product, Marketing, and Commercial teams.One direct report and then matrix stakeholder management of engineering, product and analytics.

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseTechnical and Behavioural Skills A strong appetite and ability to uncover unique insights through critical thinking and data analysis.A bias toward action, demonstrating urgency and a focus on outcomes.Exceptional communication skills, tailoring messages effectively for audiences ranging from Board members to graduate colleagues.Proven ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, delivering tangible results.A collaborative mindset, with the ability to navigate complexity and drive organisational alignmentExperience in fast growing digital businesses and their key growth levers such as Marketing, Product, Tech and Data
