Job OverviewAs the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's operations.
This includes everything from building a brand-new team and providing exceptional guest experiences to managing day-to-day operations, financial performance, and long-term strategy.
You will be crucial in upholding our commitment to organic, sustainable practices and creating a positive, engaging environment for both staff and guests.Key Responsibilities New Store Opening: Lead the hiring, training, and development of a brand-new team from scratch, ensuring all employees embody the values and mission of American Flatbread.Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to all staff, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.Operational Management: Oversee all daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, customer service, health and safety standards, and restaurant cleanliness.Customer Experience: Ensure every guest has a memorable experience that reflects our commitment to quality, community, and sustainability.Financial Management: Manage the restaurant's financial performance by controlling labor costs, food and beverage costs (COGs), and maximizing profitability.Sales Growth: Work to grow sales through local marketing efforts, community engagement, and effective service management.Training and Development: Develop and implement ongoing training programs for staff, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and teamwork.Community Engagement: Actively participate in community outreach programs, aligning with our commitment to giving back and fostering a positive local presence.Event Management: Oversee private events such as corporate gatherings, birthday parties, and other special functions in our restaurant and bowling lanes.
Qualifications Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in restaurant management, with a strong preference for candidates who have led new store openings or managed teams from scratch.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build, train, and lead a high-performing team while maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment.Operational Expertise: Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including inventory management, health and safety regulations, scheduling, and cost controls.Financial Acumen: Experience managing restaurant budgets, financial targets, and strategies to increase profitability while maintaining a high standard of quality and service.Guest-Focused: A passion for providing outstanding customer experiences, with a commitment to organic, local, and sustainable food practices.Community Engagement: Experience working with local communities and contributing to positive social initiatives through the restaurant.Culinary Knowledge: Familiarity with organic food practices and high-quality, sustainable ingredients is a plus.Flexibility: Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and take ownership of the restaurant's success.
