GENERAL MANAGER COVENTRY What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for a General Manager to join the team at Lintott, a Galliford Try business.
The position is responsible for running day-to-day operations of the Coventry facility of Lintott Control Systems (part of the Water Technologies Business Unit within the Environment Division of Galliford Try).
Deliver profitability in line with forecasts and budgets. Take ownership of the budget/forecasting, ensuring accuracy of data. Responsible for the successful delivery of all projects, on time, on budget and to the agreed specifications. Cultivating existing and new customer relationships, and identifying and developing new opportunities. Identification of operational and project-related risks. Maintain (and improve/develop) operational metrics in accordance with the Business Management System. Identify and investigate trends and advise and/or act where applicable. Capacity and resource planning (across all operational functions). Work with the HR function in recruitment and selection. Training and development of all colleagues. Succession planning. Work with the wider business in the development of supplier relationships – identifying opportunities and risks. Work alongside other Business Units (within Water Technologies) to share best practices. Develop and support the achievement of local objectives and those of the Environment division and Galliford Try. Ensure full compliance with the Business Management System (and Standards therein, including Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Information Security). Identify and report any non-conformities therein. Lead Lean-based continuous improvement. Carbon reduction initiatives. Experience and Qualifications: Well-developed analytical and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels. A motivational strong leader, with the ability to operate and deliver in changing and rapidly growing environments. Ability to operate in line with the Galliford Try Leadership Framework. Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with Galliford Try values – Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Collaboration. A suitable qualification in Electrical/Systems/Software/Production engineering, and experience in either Food, FMCG, Automotive, Materials Handling or Utility industries. Proven experience in management/leadership within a customer-centric environment. Ability to travel throughout the UK will be required.
