Company Our client is a market leader in providing comprehensive and bespoke engineering services across various sectors of the UK industrial market.
They are known for their technical knowledge, collaborative approach, and extensive network of laboratories and field-based teams nationwide.
Role Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead operations across multiple sites in the south-west.
Reporting to an Managing Director, the General Manager will oversee the management of circa 100 staff members.
The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering services, TIC (Testing, Inspection, and Certification), environmental services or aerospace manufacturing, with a strong focus on operations management, commercial acumen, and financial proficiency.
Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage all aspects of site operations, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the site.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives and drive revenue growth.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management to optimize resources and maximise profitability.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence among team members.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
Key Requirements • Proven experience as a General Manager, preferably in a similar industry or role.
• Strong background in operations management, with a focus on engineering testing services, TIC, environmental services or aerospace manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, reduce waste, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Commercial mindset with a solid understanding of financial management principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
