If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a General KS2 Teaching Assistant at a welcoming primary school in Chorley.
Role Overview: As a General KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and personal growth of children in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11).
Working closely with class teachers, you will assist in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, supporting individual students, and helping to create a positive and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist class teachers in delivering lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, including English, Maths, Science, and other subjects.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them with their academic work and understanding key concepts.
- Help prepare classroom materials and resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and working with teachers to tailor support to meet individual needs.
- Encourage positive behaviours and a growth mindset among students, fostering an inclusive and motivating atmosphere.
- Supervise and support students during playtime, lunchtime, and other school activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure the well-being and academic success of all students.
Requirements: - Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
- A good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and the needs of older primary students.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children's development.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or child development are desirable.
