Up to £65,000 basic salary DOE, plus an additional responsibility allowance for the lead vet aspect of £7000. Our client is a RCVS Tier 2 accredited, VNTP, two-site small animal practice based in Wolverhampton. They are now looking for an experienced Small Animal Vet to join them as a Clinical Lead.
The team is composed of 4 vets across two sites, working alongside a knowledgeable and experienced team of 9 RVN's, SVN's, ACA's and receptionists. They have certified RVNs in feline nursing, nutrition, behaviour and Fear Free. They're proud to say that 3 of the team are qualified mental health first aiders, ensuring that there's always someone on shift to speak to. Facilities include endoscopy, ultrasound, dental X-rays, full Idexx labs as well orthopaedic kit. The client cares about the team, patients and clients in that order because they understand that unless you are at your best, the patient care and client experience won't be the best. Using Vet led initiatives and building on a friendly and supportive foundation, they have developed a strong culture of "civility". They are looking for a candidate with exceptional interpersonal skills and a core mindset of kindness and respect.
As the Clinical Lead vet, your responsibilities will include: providing guidance and wellbeing support to the veterinary surgeons; organising vet meetings: opening case discussions to achieve best practice in patient care and playing a crucial role in the future growth and caring ethos of the practice. Experience of coaching or mentoring will be invaluable to develop the current vet team, who are at various career stages with a range of abilities. Support will be provided to you, by the knowledgeable and experienced, clinical leadership team and encourage CPD to allow you to excel in your role. You will have a flexible working approach as you will be working between two sites, undertaking a varied caseload of both surgery and consultations.
A typical full-time role would involve working 4 days per week, over 40 hours. Shifts are either 8:30 am to 6:30 pm or 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. 1:4 Saturday mornings 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. No OOH. Closed Bank Holidays and Sundays.
