Job Title: Global Freight Manager Location: B46, Coleshill Salary: Competitive Package Working Hours: Mon-Fri 9.00am to 18.00pm This is a hands-on role, and as a Global Freight Manager will be responsible for ensuring the operation is running efficiently and company service levels are always achieved whilst listening to the customers and striving to exceed their expectations.
Main Duties and responsibilities of Global Freight Manager: Lead and develop the freight operations team, including recruitment, induction, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Manage all freight transactions from start to finish.
Maintain effective relationships within the team and across the business.
Global Freight Manager must oversee ocean shipments, ensuring compliance with credit policies by monitoring credit ratings and outstanding account balances to prevent unpaid accounts.
Handle incoming inquiries, collect necessary information, and ensure bookings are processed accurately and efficiently.
Demonstrate knowledge of Customs Regulations, Dangerous Goods, and Insurance rules, ensuring adherence and providing advice to customers as needed.
Global Freight Manager need to alert Senior Management of pending claims, collect necessary information, and process claims promptly and professionally according to company procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, records, and systems.
Ensure all job functions are delivered to the highest quality and efficiency, meeting customer expectations and contractual obligations Align personal objectives with the company's strategic goals Key Requirements of Global Freight Manager: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of the import and export market.
Extensive experience with customs procedures and documentation.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for building customer relationships.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Broad experience in ocean, air, and freight forwarding.
Global Freight Manager must have experience managing a small team.
