As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fostering Team Manager to join our dedicated team.
Role Overview: As the Fostering Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting our fostering team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and fostering services.
You will manage and lead a team of social workers, working closely with foster carers, children, and other stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for all involved.
Key Responsibilities: \n \n \n Team Leadership & Management: \n \n Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and fostering practitioners, providing regular guidance, supervision, and performance management.
\n Ensure a supportive and collaborative team environment that fosters professional development and high morale.
\n Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the team stays informed about best practices and evolving policies.
\n \n \n \n Service Delivery & Compliance: \n \n Ensure the delivery of high-quality fostering services that adhere to statutory requirements, regulatory standards, and agency policies.
\n Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance, service delivery, and outcomes for children in foster care.
\n \n \n \n Training & Development: \n \n Facilitate ongoing training and professional development for the team, ensuring that social workers and practitioners remain up-to-date with the latest standards, laws, and therapeutic approaches.
\n Promote learning opportunities and identify areas for improvement to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
\n \n \n \n Collaboration with Stakeholders: \n \n Work collaboratively with foster carers, children, external agencies, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive support.
\n Address concerns and issues promptly, ensuring the welfare and safety of children in care are prioritised.
\n \n \n \n Out-of-Hours (OOH) Oversight: \n \n Provide management oversight and guidance for out-of-hours (OOH) calls, ensuring that urgent matters related to fostering placements are handled effectively.
\n Act as a point of escalation for complex or urgent issues arising during OOH periods, ensuring that foster carers, children, and other relevant parties receive appropriate support and guidance.
\n Work with the OOH team to maintain accurate records, report on incidents, and ensure follow-up actions are taken as needed.
\n OOH will be on rotation shared between the TM and RM.
\n \n \n \n Performance Management: \n \n Regularly monitor and evaluate team performance, identifying areas of improvement and providing constructive feedback.
\n Conduct annual performance appraisals for team members and support them in setting professional goals and development plans.
\n \n \n \n Key Requirements: \n \n \n Social Work Qualification: You must be a qualified social worker, registered with the appropriate professional body.
\n \n Experience: Previous experience in a team manager role within an independent fostering agency (IFA) is highly preferred.
\n \n Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
\n \n Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fostering regulations, child protection, and relevant legislation.
\n \n Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
\n \n Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
