Simpson-Booth is delighted to be assisting our Client with the sourcing of a Forklift Yard Operative for their workshop in Aberdeen.
This Forklift Yard Operative will be reporting to the Service Delivery Supervisor.
Main Purpose of the Role: This role will involve loading/unloading containers within yard area using up to and including 12 Tonne Forklift truck safely and according to approved company procedures.
Working closely with the Office to check stock levels and ensure all incoming and outgoing CCU units are logged accurately and load deliveries for drivers.
Key Accountabilities: Unloading/Loading of Cargo Carrying Units (CCU) Pre ship CCU units as per customers requirement Receive all incoming goods according to procedure.
Ensure CCU units are accurate & match certification.
Ensure stock levels are recorded.
Ensure all CCU units are checked against delivery note.
Keeping yard clean, tidy, and orderly at all times to allow safe movement of personnel and equipment.
Responsible for ensuring tasks are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with applicable company procedures Ensure allocated equipment, tools etc are used in a safe and correct manner and not subject to misuse or abuse.
Person Specification: Comply with Health and Safety requirements on site to ensure loading, unloading and movement of stock is carried out in a safe and secure environment.
General handling of equipment and ensuring it is stored safely.
Handling delivery and pre-shipment paperwork ensuring completed properly and passed to the office personnel.
Skills & Competencies: Forklift driver essential.
Qualifications & Certifications: Forklift certificate (B2) Experience Previous experience in a similar role is required.
Personal Qualities: Ability to work with others in a team environment.
Positive and motivated with a willingness to participate in a changing environment.
Logical mindset.
