As a Food Technology Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in our Design and Technology department, inspiring students to develop their culinary skills and encouraging them to explore the world of food technology.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that cover a range of food-related topics, including food preparation, nutrition, cooking techniques, food safety, and the impact of technology on the food industry.
Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in line with the school's curriculum and educational guidelines.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and express their ideas.
Guide students in practical cooking sessions, teaching essential culinary techniques and promoting safe food handling practices.
Evaluate and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in food technology and incorporate relevant industry practices into the curriculum.
Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular projects and extracurricular activities related to food technology.
Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and staff development programs.
Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
A degree or relevant qualification in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
Proven experience teaching Food Technology or a related subject to secondary school students (experience in KS3 and KS4 preferred).
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
Enthusiasm for utilizing technology in the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
