We are looking for someone to provide support to the flood risk management function, in particular engaging with members of the public and promoting personal resilience and riparian responsibilities.
Helping to support the delivery of the role of the Lead Local Flood Authority, the delivery of the Council's Flood Risk Management Capital programme and the delivery of the actions in Leicestershire's Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.About the RoleThis role will involve working alongside colleagues in the Flood Risk Management team, carrying site visits and site meetings with residents, contractors, developers, land owners to investigate and report on suspected unauthorised activity relating to ordinary watercourses, assist in enforcement and represent the Council in any associated court proceedings where appropriate.
Also providing technical advice to Members, partners and stakeholders, including writing reports where appropriate.You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have experience of managing your own workload and working to deadlines.
You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

BTEC Higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification) or experience that meets the essential requirement.
Be able to successfully engage with customers / clients / stakeholders, including attending and producing materials for meetings, exhibitions etc.

Have experience of working in the field of Flood Risk Management or Civil Engineering.
Have excellent communication and presentation skills, including being able to provide relevant, concise written advice and negotiate successful outcomes.
Be able to work to tight timescales and to agreed targets.
Hold a full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Ability to travel across the County as required.
