BMS Application Engineer | Critical Infrastructure | Data Centres | Remote within the UK Note, this role does not provide Visa Sponsorship Our client, a global leader in innovative solutions for mission-critical environments, is seeking a BMS Applications Engineer to join their dynamic Engineering Team in the UK.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in developing bespoke BMS applications software for Data Centres and other mission-critical infrastructure projects, contributing to the success of cutting-edge initiatives worldwide.
As a BMS Applications Engineer, you will take ownership of delivering high-quality, reliable software solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced international environment.
Your responsibilities will include: Software Development: Create BMS application software from scratch based on a Statement of Objectives (SOO) to control mission-critical systems like HVAC, cooling, and other essential infrastructure.
Standardisation and Testing: Develop, document, and rigorously test standardized applications, ensuring adherence to industry standards such as CIBSE.
System Integration: Integrate third-party systems into BMS/EMS platforms using protocols like Modbus and BACnet , delivering seamless and efficient solutions.
Global Collaboration: Work with international teams to execute projects efficiently while maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of customer engineering standards and internal processes to drive project success and customer satisfaction.
You will work remotely from wherever you are in the UK , with occasional travel to clients based on specific needs.
Skills and Experience Required for this Role: Experience: At least 6 years of experience in developing BMS software, particularly in mission-critical environments such as Data Centres .
Technical Skills: Proficiency in writing software from scratch for complex systems, with expertise in Function Block and/or Scripting languages.
Industry Expertise: Knowledge of mission-critical markets and infrastructure, is essential.
HVAC or chilled water system experience is desirable, but not mandatory.
Problem-Solving: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-constrained deliverables in a high-stakes setting.
Collaboration Skills: Strong communication abilities to work across global teams and with diverse stakeholders.
Adaptability: Agile mindset to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Qualifications HNC level (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is preferred.
Familiarity with IoT and Smart Building technologies is a bonus.
Training in HVAC system design and control strategies would be highly beneficial.
