You will join a multi-skilled team of engineers where you will get to grips with a broad mix of technology and get involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle from rough and ready prototypes to production machines.
We are looking for: Firmware Systems Engineer (permanent): - Good all-round knowledge of Software Engineering with relevant, applied, design experience.
- Software, Electronics or related Degree Educated (2:1 minimum).
- Capable of architecting and designing firmware solutions.
- Proactive and innovative.
- Integration with multiskilled teams (electronics, mechanics, software, physics, optics, chemistry).
- Capable of taking ownership of designs and leading technically when necessary.
You will be specifying, designing and testing systems incorporating: - Microchip PICs, STM32 ARM Microcontrollers, CPLDs & FPGAs.
- Interfacing with a range of Analogue, Digital and Electromechanical components and sensors.
- User and communication Interfaces (e.g.
USB3.1, Gigabit Ethernet, I2C, SPI).
- Camera, Motor and Temperature Control.
- Lighting control (e.g.
Lasers, LEDs, flash lamps).
- Basic graphic user interfaces.
- Basic safety critical circuits.
Beneficial, but not essential, experience includes: - Visual Studio, Devops, GIT.
- Ability to trace through schematics to identify pinouts, port capabilities etc.
- Avalonia awareness and/or WPF familiarity.
- Experience of design for low to medium volume manufacturing.
- Development knowledge of Embedded Linux, Windows Apps, RTOS.
- Wireless technologies such as RFID, Bluetooth and WiFi.
- An interest or background in Photography.
