Firearms Licensing Team Leader

Job advert In this role you will be a First Line Manager to Firearms and Explosives Licensing Officers working within your designated Cluster.
You will scrutinise all Firearms and Explosives Licensing enquiry reports submitted by those working under your supervision and make recommendations to the Cluster Inspector on applicant suitability in respect of the grant or renewal of certificates in line with legislation, statutory guidance and force procedures.
You will support the National Firearms and Explosives Licensing Cluster Inspector when it is necessary to review the suitability of a certificate holder or Registered Firearms Dealer.The following base locations are for Cluster 1 and 3-6Cluster 1 - Westhill, Elgin and PeterheadCluster 3 - Glenrothes, Dundee and PerthCluster 4 - Edinburgh and DalkeithCluster 5 - MotherwellCluster 6 Dumfries and KilmarnockThere is one role available in each cluster.This supervisory role comes with first line manager responsibilities for Police Staff and Police Officer over a large geographic area.
Whilst some hybrid working can be facilitated, this needs to be balanced with visible team leadership and the ability to support the completion of firearms enquiries across the area of responsibility.
Taking this into account there is a requirement of 2 days per week in the base location of the role.Hours will be worked between 08:00 - 16:00PM.
