Financial Reporting & Compliance PartnerGroupGlasgow, ScotlandHybrid (2-3 days in the office)Purpose of Role: This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy of our financial reporting, driving robust financial governance, and maintaining compliance across the Group.
You will be responsible for assessing, reporting, and advising on developments in accounting standards and their implications for the Group.
Additionally, you will ensure regulatory compliance through the meticulous maintenance of the Group Finance Manual and related documents, as well as delivering essential training.In this role, you will play a crucial part in coordinating the production of interim and annual reports, conducting quality checks, and managing related regulatory filing requirements.
You will also provide comprehensive reports for the Audit Committee on areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Accounting Standards: Assess, report, and advise on developments in accounting standards and their implications for the Group.
Oversee the project management of implementing new standards across the Group, including developing statutory disclosures and integrating them into financial reporting systems.Group Finance Manual and Training: Oversee the maintenance of the Group Finance Manual.
Support the delivery of technical training and guidance to finance staff across the Group to ensure compliance and understanding of accounting standards.Capex and Reportable Contracts: Review Capex and reportable contracts that require Corporate approval in line with the Group Delegation of Authority.
Monitor compliance with Group policy, including reviewing exemptions to ensure adherence to established guidelines.External Regulatory Reporting: Manage the process and timetable for external regulatory reporting, including Interim and Annual reports, UK subsidiary accounts, and ESEF reporting.
Coordinate with stakeholders and monitor global governance of all statutory submissions.
Prepare Audit Committee reports for areas of responsibility.Quality Reporting and Compliance: Support the Group Finance Reporting Manager in delivering high-quality Interim and Annual reports and press releases.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (such as UK GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
Review required templates to maintain accuracy and consistency in financial reporting.Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Degree and CA/ACA qualified with a minimum of five years post-qualification experienceStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP & IFRS), and regulatory requirementsExperienced in management reporting, preferably at a FTSE250Experienced in statutory reporting and subsidiary statutory accounts.Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
