Cycle has three core areas of pharmaceutical development and work across rare metabolic, immunological and neurological genetic conditions: improving drugs – optimizing an existing drug; repurposing drugs – creating a new indication for an existing drug; and generics – reinstating generic drugs, previously available in the market.
These three areas of focus are underpinned by formulation technology – using new drug delivery technologies to improve the efficacy and effectiveness of drugs, allowing us to give patients greater freedom and choice.
Job Title: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager Cycle Company: Cycle Pharmaceuticals Ltd Position Summary: This is a full-time position within the Finance department, working in our Cambridge office on a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days in the office).
Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Budgeting: Lead the development and management of annual budgets, long-term financial forecasts, and rolling forecasts.
Ensure alignment with the company's strategic objectives and identify financial risks and opportunities.
Financial Analysis & Reporting: Provide high-quality financial analysis to support business decisions, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cost performance evaluations.
Produce insightful management reports for senior leadership, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Strategic Decision Support: Work closely with business leaders and department heads to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making, cost control, and investment planning.
Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain financial models to support various business initiatives, including new product launches, capital investment projects, and mergers/acquisitions.
Assess financial feasibility and business impact.
Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across departments such as Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Supply Chain amongst Others to gather relevant data, challenge assumptions, and ensure alignment on financial goals.
Forecasting & Scenario Planning: Lead the process for quarterly financial forecasts, ensuring accurate and updated financial projections.
Assist in scenario planning to evaluate potential business outcomes under different assumptions.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and guide the FP&A team, supporting their professional development and ensuring effective collaboration across the finance team.
Qualifications and Skills Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification is highly desirable.
Experience in financial planning and analysis a must, ideally within a managerial role.
Experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare industries is a strong advantage.
Strong proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and financial analysis techniques.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, experience with Microsoft Dynamics is desirable but not essential.
Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable presenting complex financial data to senior management.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
