A Financial Controller with an emphasis on projects is sought to join this growing northwest retail business.
You will be responsible for leading a team to manage financial projects end-to-end whilst working with stakeholders and planning projects all the way through to successful project delivery.
As a leader of the project teams, you will ensure all work outputs are executed to meet requirements, taking into consideration inter-dependencies between your work and other projects/programmes of work.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the projects Financial Controller will play a pivotal role within the finance function, particularly focusing on managing the improvement of project related activities as well as continuously improving financial processes.
The projects are likely to cover all aspects of financial activities including people-related, system implementations and process improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities Lead a team of professionals & specialists to develop skills and capabilities in order to achieve project objectives and continuously improve performance Lead the implementation of medium to high scale projects, managing multi-disciplinary teams and work to various timescales ensuring delivery standards and the achievement of the Company objectives Manage relationships with stakeholders, partners and contractors, in order to ensure all parties are informed and appraised of project progress, and objectives remain aligned Translate project objectives into plans, costs and schedules, managing finances across the project lifecycle through accurate forecasting, to meet agreed time, quality and cost standards Analyse and compile a range of complex data and documentation, using knowledge and work carried out by others to review options and provide recommendations in the project decision-making process Utilise knowledge and experience of industry best practice to develop processes and review policies on a project basis, ensuring changes are in line with the Company's strategic objectives Successfully invest expertise to enable the Projects Team and wider function to unblock obstacles preventing progress and development Manage and plan the project programme ensuring correct balance of projects and the programme timeline is deliverable YOU: Qualified Accountant 5+ years PQE - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent Proven experience of project management across a range of financial projects All round knowledge of finance departments and ways of working in large finance teams Proven financial management skills and commercial acumen, with a high degree of organisational skill Rewards: Competitive salary and benefits to include private healthcare, performance related bonus, discounts from major retailers, flexi time, onsite parking.
